Energizing Day

Today started with taking the confirmation class I am teaching to our local Cathedral for the annual Chrism Mass.  It was truly something to behold.  What a neat experience to be with so many of our fellow brothers and sisters in faith, all under one roof.  The music was so neat to hear.  It was a long morning but was so good to be apart of.  I was so proud of two of the kids in the class as they went forth with our parish banner and received the oils that we will present in church for use in the sacraments to come, including twelve very special confirmations. These kids have been such a blessing to be with this past year.  They are a great bunch of kids.  One happens to be  my oldest son Steven.  I am so humbled to be apart of their journey.  I will say that it makes me a nervous wreck.  My fear is I will not give them what they need.  Will they see that they need and should want to serve past the hours that are required?  Will they see the love I have for the Catholic faith?  I don't show my emotions well.  Will they see the stories told in the scripture and their history or just something that happened a long time ago?   Will the seed be planted that needs to be?  Will they see this as something big or something their parents are making them do?   It is I and another lady taking on these twelve kids. I know that we cannot do any of this without God.  I know that anything that gets through is not of our doing but God.  It still makes me nervous.
The lady who is with me has been my lifesaver.  She is the organized one.  She sends out all the reminder letters and is keeping up with our schedule to keep us on track and has learned to write the things I need on a post it note and put it on my datebook.  Without her, I could not do this. Rita is who you want to help you keep it together.
I will keep praying and I am confident in God that He will make this work out just the way it is suppose to be.
